The Sant Feliu de Guíxols Yacht Club and the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation have organized from June 17 to 21 the Spanish Championship of the ILCA 6 class with 120 participants from 10 different autonomous communities . The Catalan Ricard Castellví has been the winner of the championship, followed by the Balearic Tim Lubat in second position and the Valencian Pedro Adán in third place.
Overall, the representatives of the Valencian Country are the ones who have achieved the best results.
The race
The weather has been complicated throughout the championship, with an uncertain wind of not very high intensity that has made maximum peaks of 12 knots.
In total, three tests were held per group on Tuesday and Wednesday, a single test for the gold group on Thursday due to the rain and two tests per group on Friday.
The awards ceremony
The awards ceremony was held this Friday afternoon and was carried out by the councillor of the City Council of Sant Feliu de Guíxols Jordi Riera, the member of the board of directors of the CNSFG and representative of the sports commission Jordi Parés, the national secretary of the ILCA class Javier Blanco, the manager of the CNSFG Maribel Vela and the sports director of the entity Marc Bozzo.
Balance of the regatta
From the Club Nàutic Sant Feliu de Guíxols there is a very positive balance of the Championship, which has been a great milestone for the entity and which has been organized with great enthusiasm and effort. It is estimated that the competition has had an economic impact of about 130,000 euros for the city.
The regatta has had the support of the Girona Provincial Council, the Catalan Sailing Federation, the Spanish Association of the ILCA Class and the support of the City Council of Sant Feliu de Guíxols.
