Activities for Schools

Nautical activities for schools from Catalonia to Southern France and beyond

The sailing school of the Club Nàutic Sant Feliu de Guíxols actively collaborates with most educational centers in the area and throughout Catalonia, making known and accessible the sport of sailing and the different Nautical Activities. Every year more than 2,000 people pass through our facilities.

We are also part of the Blue School Sports Program (“Esport Blau”,a program that combines education and sport, and proposes a sports training activity in the sport of sailing as part of the Physical Education of 5th graders of the Centers of Education of the Catalan coast.

How to make a reservation?
Reservations for school activities must be made directly by the school’s manager or physical education teacher. The centers will have to pass the list of students that participate in the activity and inform of the NEE that exists in each group.

Our school activities:

Baptism of the Sea

4-hour activity of initiation to sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and/or paddle surfing. We make a brief theoretical introduction that includes knowledge of the environment, identification of winds, directions, parts of boats and safety.

At the end of the boats we depart to sail to the sea.

This activity is carried out with an instructor for every six participants.

Physical education

The dinghy sailing activity is included in the physical education teaching hours of the center. It is done once a week. The program lasts five sessions of 2 hours a day that includes a theoretical part (knowledge of the environment, identification of winds, directions, parts of the boats and safety) which is around 10% of the activity, and the rest consists of practice, boat assembly, navigation and orientation.

In this activity the students acquire the yellow level of navigation: manage the controls of the boat, directions and manoeuvres with soft winds. This activity is carried out with an instructor for every six students.

Finally, an evaluation is carried out that averages with the subject of physical education of the center.

Blue Week

A week dedicated exclusively to sport and the nautical environment, all related to the sea. The program consists of five sessions of 4 hours a day that include a theoretical part that takes around 10% of the activity, and the rest consists of practice of assembly and preparation of the boats and navigation. Sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and paddle surfing are alternated.

This activity is carried out with an instructor for every 6 students.
