The Sant Feliu de Guíxols Yacht Club has celebrated this Saturday and Sunday the VIII Guíxols Cup in the ILCA 4, ILCA 6 and ILCA 7 classes. Eighty-two sailors have participated in the ganxona regatta, which is sponsored by Escola Nàutica Mediñà, Fast Mast, Imnasa and Helena Jornet Finques and has the support of the Catalan Sailing Federation, the Diputació de Girona and the Sant Feliu de Guíxols City Council.

The results

In ILCA 4, with 40 participants, Joan Fargas from CN Cambrils has occupied the first place on the podium, followed by Guillem Dengra from the El Masnou Yacht Club in second place and Albert Pujol from CN Salou in third position. In this category, the result of the sailor of the Sant Feliu de Guíxols Yacht Club Mireia Garriga stands out, who has been second female and first U16.

In ILCA 6, with 28 sailors, Max Urquizu of the Club Nàutic Salou has won in first place, his clubmate Miguel Cairo in second position and Tatu Uusitalo of CN Garraf in third place.

In ILCA 7, with seven participants, the gold went to Jose Luis Doreste from CN Port d’Aro, silver for Miquel Noguer from CN El Masnou and bronze for Oriol Marron from CN Betulo.

The race

The regatta consisted of a total of 5 events, three of which were held on Saturday and two more on Sunday. As for the weather, on Saturday there was a strong north wind and a garbí wind on Sunday.

The awards ceremony took place this Sunday afternoon and was attended by the sports director of the CNSFG, Marc Bozzo, the member of the CNSFG board and its sports commission Josep Mediñà, the commodore of the CNSFG Antonio Sabaté, the councilor for sports of the City of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, David Oliveras and the Catalan Secretary of the ILCA Class, Jaime Menescal.
