XVI Ganxó Trophy of the IOM class, organized by the Sant Feliu de Guixols Yacht Club, was held this weekend with southeast winds of between 4 and 7 knots. A total of 8 events were held, with the participation of 16 sailors from all over Catalonia, with some casualties and some sailors who have chosen to return to the category thanks to the good atmosphere that the IOMCAT enjoys at the moment.

The results

The championship was very even until the end, highlighting the fight between Eduard Bonifacio and Jordi Martorell for first place and the incredible fight for third place between Ramon Soler, Paul Le Duc and Jim Campbell that was defined as a matter of discards. However, Manuel Palma, Santi Julian, Jordi Zarcero, Ernest Rodas and Paul Maes had a magnificent performance given the level they had in the 8 tests.

Finally, as the wind was not established, it was decided to carry out two tests without counting that consisted of a regatta of fixed marks that was of great acceptance and amusement for the fleet. They were won by Paul Le Duc and Alfred Piqueras.

Once the non-scoring regattas were over, the fleet went to the Tinglado of the Sant Feliu de Guixols Yacht Club where the awards ceremony for the winners and the traditional group photo were held.
