The next May 8th Club Nàutic Sant Feliu de Guíxols joins the cleaning day Let’s Clean Up Europe, a common action throughout Europe to raise awareness about the amount of waste we throw uncontrollably into nature and promote awareness actions through the collection of this waste, which is illegally dumped in forests, beaches, river banks, etc.

The CNSFG operation to clean up will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Sailing Club shed and plans to collect the accumulated rubbish in the port and on the beach. The activity is expected to last for two hours.

All participants will receive a commemorative bag of the activity as well as a pair of gloves to be able to carry out the cleaning tasks properly.

Coastal cleaning: a necessary action for the environment

Currently plastics account for 95% of floating waste in the Mediterranean and are extremely dangerous waste for marine animals, which can die suffocated. Microplastics are also a threat, which are incorporated into the species’ food chain and can be a threat to many animals.

For this reason, from the Yacht Club Sant Feliu de Guíxols we appeal to the individual responsibility of all and invite the population to participate in the cleaning day planned for May 8 to take care of our natural environment.
